Description
One half of the wine is lush and opulent, the other juicy, fresh and pulsing with the essence of old-vines Rioja fruit. So for every note of molasses, burnt toast, chocolate or baked berry pie, there's a twinge of acidity, a spike of tannin and a dollop of earthy terroir. Tempranillo with 15% Graciano.

WINE MAKER NOTES: |
An intense red-purple colour. Potent and elegant onthe nose with a great complexity of aromas (jams, minerals, menthol, spices, wild herbs, toffee and cacao). Great harmony in the mouth with very marked sweet tannins, very complex and full of flavours of black fruits, raisins, liquorice, coffee, ink and aromatic herbs. Persistent lingering finish. Excellent wine for aging. |
PRODUCER: |
Situated in La Rioja Alta, on a hill that stands 80 metres above the surrounding countryside, Briones appears silhouetted against the sky, so reflecting the importance of the terroir on which it was built, the importance of a terroir that allows us to get closer to heaven. Since 1986, when Miguel Ángel de Gregorio discovered the excellent qualities of this land, the interaction between the two, between man and land, between intelligence and potential, has enabled us to give our wines a unique personality of the very highest level. |
